Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an Organisational Development Admin Assistant to help keep our learning and development activities running smoothly. Based at Service Headquarters in Shrewsbury, you will provide administrative support that helps colleagues across the Service access training and develop their skills.

What Will You Be Doing?

Reporting to the Organisational Development Officer, you will support the co-ordination of non-operational training and development activities. You will liaise with training providers and colleagues, maintaining a training course calendar, arranging rooms, course materials, and sending joining instructions so learners have the information they need.

You will also use our Learning Management System (LMS) to manage course bookings, update training records and materials, maintain accurate data. Collecting course feedback and providing general administrative support to the Organisational Development Team will also be part of your role.

What Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for an organised, accurate and customer-focused administrator with experience of data input and producing computerised information. You will have well-developed Microsoft Office skills, and able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines. Clear communication and confidence in working with colleagues and external providers are essential.

You will be a committed team member with a flexible approach, able to respond calmly to urgent requests and maintain confidentiality. You should be willing to work occasionally outside normal working hours if required.

Experience of administering an LMS, co-ordinating courses or events, or working within HR, Organisational Development or Learning and Development would be an advantage, but is not essential.

You should hold a minimum of three GCSE passes at Grade 4 or above, including English Language and Maths, or equivalent. An NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or a Level 3 qualification in HR or Learning and Development would be desirable. Please refer to the person specification for the full requirements.

What We Offer

The post is located at Service Headquarters, Shrewsbury, providing free on-site parking.

The role also includes the following benefits:

  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Flexible Working Hours Scheme
  • Paycare Health Benefits
  • Occupational Health Services
  • Hybrid working (1 day per week homeworking)

Please note: Applications will be shortlisted based on how well they meet the criteria in the person specification, so please ensure your application clearly reflects this.
